Forensic science: The investigators extract the data and try to piece them together. They also make inferences while analyzing the data, trying to find the data. Biology: Biologist collect data for information. They analyze it by conducting experiments; testing their hypothesis. The scientific method: Well, you get the point! It does not matter whether it is forensic science or biology. Different sciences different rules, but with similarity.
